シリア北西部イドリブ県ハス村で10月26日、学校が空爆を受け、少なくとも22人の児童を含む民間人36人が死亡した。BBCなどが報じた。
AP通信によると、イドリブ県は反政府勢力の支配地域で、シリア軍とロシア軍による空爆が続いていた。イギリスに拠点を置くNGO「シリア人権監視団」は、ロシア軍が意図的に学校を狙った空爆だと非難している。国連児童基金（ユニセフ）によると、学校への襲撃としては内戦が勃発した2011年以降最悪の死者となった。
国連の潘基文事務総長は27日、声明で「意図的なものであれば戦争犯罪にあたる」と強く非難した。
ロシア外務省のマリア・ザハロワ報道官は27日、「ロシアは今回の空爆とは一切関係ない」と否定し、すぐに調査にあたると述べた。
ユニセフによると、シリア国内で学校を標的とした「極めて非人道的な攻撃」は、10月11日以来5件発生しているという。
