トヨタ自動車は11月18日、燃料の水素に空気中の酸素を反応させてできた電気で走る燃料電池車(FCV)「MIRAI(ミライ)」の発売を12月15日とすると発表した。

トヨタ自動車は11月18日、燃料の水素に空気中の酸素を反応させてできた電気で走る燃料電池車(FCV)「MIRAI(ミライ)」の発売を12月15日とすると発表した。メーカー希望小売価格は723万6000円(北海道、沖縄は除く)。2015年末までに約400台の販売を目指す。時事ドットコムが次のように報じた。

トヨタは当初、発売時期を2015年3月末までとしていたが、年内に前倒ししたことで、1997年に他社に先駆けて投入し、大ヒットしたハイブリッド車(HV)「プリウス」と同様、市場をリードしたい考えだ。ホンダも17日にFCVを2015年度中に発売すると発表しており、「次世代エコカーの本命」と言われるFCVの普及が今後、本格化する見通しだ。

ミライは4人乗りのセダンタイプ。約3分程度の水素の充填で、650キロの走行が可能だ。国は1台につき202万円の補助金を出す方針で、実質的な負担は約520万円になる。加藤光久副社長は「ミライは(ハイブリッド車の)プリウスをはるかに超えるイノベーションの幕開けだ」と話した

今後の普及には燃料となる水素ステーションなどのインフラ整備が課題となる。
