日本大学の77歳の名誉教授が、指定暴力団山口組の元幹部から2000万円を借り、まだ返済していないことがわかった。

日本大学の77歳の名誉教授が、指定暴力団山口組の元幹部から2000万円を借り、まだ返済していないことがわかった。名誉教授は法学部に所属。現在は非常勤講師として、大学院法学研究科の英米法の授業を週に3コマ担当していたが、日本大学は「極めて遺憾。詳細を確認し、厳正に対応する」として、11月9日までに名誉教授の大学院での授業を休講にする措置をとった。朝日新聞デジタルなどが報じた。

NHKニュースによると、名誉教授に2000万円を貸していたのは山口組系暴力団の初代組長で、現在82歳。現役当時は資金力が強く、企業経営者などを集めて不動産取引や投資話の会合を頻繁に開く「経済ヤクザ」として知られた存在だったという。山口組の組織内では、2005年以降で6代目の篠田建市（通称・司忍）組長の体制下で「組長」「若頭」に次ぐナンバー3の「顧問」を務めていたが、2012年ごろに高齢を理由に引退した。

元幹部が現役時代の10年ほど前に、名誉教授が2000万円を借りたのとみられている。海外での投資に充てる資金として、2000万円を借りたと元暴力団組長が、さいたま地裁越谷支部に起こした民事裁判の中で証言していたという。

名誉教授はNHKニュースの取材に対し、相手が山口組幹部だと知っていたことを認め、「日頃からつきあいがあり、軽い気持ちで借りた。これまで返済を求められていないので借りたままだが、そのうち返すつもりだ。反社会的勢力だからすべてが悪いというのはおかしいと思う」と説明したという。
