韓国で児童虐待に関する政策提言などを行う中央児童保護専門機関は11月22日、児童虐待を防止する新しいキャンペーンを始めた。ソウル市内の歩道に置いた白いスクリーンに、虐待する大人と怯える子供のシルエットを投写するというものだ。
スクリーンに書かれているのは「児童虐待 あなたが防げます」の文字。スクリーンの前に立つと、あなたもこのワンシーンの登場人物になることができる。中央児童保護専門機関によると、通行者らは、大人の影の目を突いたり頭を殴るなどの思い思いのポーズを取り、写真に撮ってSNSに投稿しているという。
スクリーンの前に立った参加者のシルエットの部分には、さらに別の言葉が浮かび上がる。ここには、児童虐待が疑われる状況を見かけた時に連絡する電話番号が書かれており、「電話してください。通報して、子供たちの英雄になってください」と書かれている。
一方日本では、児童相談所（児相）が対応した児童虐待の件数も毎年増えており、2013年度は7万3765件（速報値）だった。なお、虐待を受けたと思われる子どもを見つけたときの連絡や相談は、「0570-064-000」の全国共通電話番号で受け付けている。
