メジャーリーグのレンジャーズ（アメリカンリーグ）に所属するダルビッシュ有投手（30）が、ドジャース（ナショナルリーグ）に移籍することがわかった。レンジャーズの公式サイトに7月30日、ニュースとして掲載された。
ドジャースは現在、ナショナルリーグ西地区の1位だが、エースの左腕クレイトン・カーショー投手（29）が故障で戦列を離れている。そんな事情を抱えるチームにとって、ダルビッシュは救世主として期待される。
日刊スポーツによると、ダルビッシュは記者会見で移籍の感想を問われ、「僕がどう思うかというより、トレードと言われたら行くしかないし、それに対してプロとして適応するだけ」と答えた。
アメリカ紙「ロサンゼルスタイムズ」によると、今シーズン好調のドジャースは1988年以来のワールドシリーズ制覇を狙っているといい、ダルビッシュについてはカーショーが故障する前から関心を示していたという。ゼネラルマネージャーのファーハン・ザイディ氏は「この移籍はチームにとって必ずや気持ちを高める効果があるだろう」と同紙の取材に答えた。
メジャーリーグの公式ニュースサイト「MLB.com」によると、ダルビッシュは今シーズン、6勝9敗、防御率4.01と振るわないものの、オールスターには4回出場した経験があるなど、その実力は高く評価されている。ドジャースには現在、中継ぎに回った前田健太投手もおり、ダルビッシュ、前田の日本人投手リレーも楽しみだ。
ドジャースはダルビッシュを獲得する代わりに、若手の有望二塁手、ウィリー・キャルフーンら3人をレンジャースにトレードする。
