マツダのコンセプトカー「風籟(ふうらい)」が、英人気自動車番組『トップギア』の雑誌版に貸し出されて全焼していたという話を今年9月にお伝えしたが、今回はその詳細が明らかになったのでお伝えしよう。

同誌のネット版が明らかにしたところによると、2008年1月のデトロイトオートショーでデビューを飾った風籟が全焼したのは、なんと同年の8月。実に、5年間もその事実を伏せていたことになる。同サイトでは、類まれな美しさを誇るコンセプトカー、風籟が同誌の企画したテストの最中に炎上し、たった8分ほどで丸焦げになるまでの経緯を、多くの写真と共に詳しく説明(英語)している。
