「腐ったバナナを投げつけられた」黒人学生への嫌がらせ、アメリカン大学で相次ぐ

誰かが腐ったバナナを黒人の生徒に投げつけた。

ワシントンD.C.にあるアメリカン大学の学生たちが、9月にキャンパスで起きた人種差別的な事件への対応が不十分だとして、大学側を非難している。

あるケースでは、腐りかけのバナナが黒人生徒の寮の部屋の入り口に置かれていた。さらに、誰かが扉のホワイトボードに男性器の落書きをした。

「追い出されることはないでしょうが」と、バナナを見つけた1年生のニア・グレイさんはワシントン・ポストに語った。「こんなことがいまだに起こるとは、何だか悲しいですね」

アメリカン大学黒人学生連合によると、別の事件では、誰かが腐ったバナナを黒人の生徒に投げつけた。この行為はアメリカン大学でよくあることだったという。2015年には黒人生徒の寮の扉に人種差別的な悪口が落書きされた。

大学はこうした事件について「偏見とはみなせない」との見解を発表した。「学生の行動規範」の中で起きた「規範に反する行為」で起こったと発表した。大学がどの事件について言及していたのかは明らかではない。

大学の対応は、多くの生徒にとって納得いくものではなかった。

「黒人女性はキャンパスで危険にさらされています。彼女たちは、射撃訓練の標的になっているのです」と、黒人学生連合の訪問支援調整役を務めるジェイダ・ベルさんはバズフィードニュースに語った。「私たちはキャンパスで文字通り攻撃され、暴行を受けていますが、大学側は何もしてくれません」

その結果、大学の学生理事会が18日に決議を出し、事件だけでなく大学側の対応も非難した

アメリカン大学の学生ライアン・シェパードさんは、Twitterに、がキャンパス中に貼られた張り紙の写真を投稿した。

最近アメリカン大学の黒人の女子生徒たちがバナナなどを投げつけられました。今日、学生たちが反応しました。まだ続くでしょう。

大学の公安部はすぐにこの貼り紙を撤去したという
