ワールドカップ開催地選出、FIFA倫理委が調査 2018年と2022年

国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)は、2018年と2022年ワールドカップ(W杯)開催地選出について、同連盟の倫理委員会が調査を行っていることを明らかにした。

サッカー=W杯開催地選出めぐり、FIFA倫理委が調査

国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)は、2018年と2022年ワールドカップ(W杯)開催地選出について、同連盟の倫理委員会が調査を行っていることを明らかにした。

FIFAは2010年12月に、2018年W杯の開催地にロシア、22年W杯の開催地にカタールを選出。ロシアはイングランドのほか、ベルギーとオランダ(共催での立候補)、スペインとポルトガル(同)を破っての勝利。カタールは日本、韓国、オーストラリア、米国との勝負を制しての開催権獲得となった。

しかし、この2大会の開催地決定をめぐっては、不正が行われた可能性が指摘されており、FIFAはこのたび、倫理委員会のトップが理事数人を対象に事情聴取を行っているとの声明を発表した。

開催地選出にかかわった理事のうち、ゼップ・ブラッター会長を含む13人は理事会にとどまっているものの、9人がすでに離職している。
