香港中心部でデモ隊に催涙弾発射 行政長官選挙巡り最大8万人が抗議

香港警察は29日早く、次期長官選挙を巡って中心部で抗議活動を続けている民主派に催涙弾を発射した。 ただ、香港政府庁舎前では依然として数千人が抗議活動を続行。1997年の香港返還以来、最悪の混乱に見舞われている。

[香港 29日 ロイター] - 香港警察は29日早く、次期長官選挙を巡って中心部で抗議活動を続けている民主派に催涙弾を発射した。

ただ、香港政府庁舎前では依然として数千人が抗議活動を続行。1997年の香港返還以来、最悪の混乱に見舞われている。

金融街「セントラル(中環)」に通じる幹線道路も封鎖されており、29日朝の通勤に影響が出るとみられている。

梁振英・行政長官は抗議活動に「断固とした」姿勢で臨む方針を表明。警察が催涙弾を使用したのは2005年以来初めてとなる。警察はゴム弾を発射したとのうわさを否定している。

香港政府によると、一部の公共交通機関にも影響が出る可能性がある。付近の学校は一部休校になった。

主催者側の発表によると、デモ参加者は最大8万人に達した。

一方、これに先立つ28日、中国国務院(内閣に相当)香港マカオ事務弁公室の報道官は香港における民主派の抗議活動について、社会の安定を損なう全ての違法行為に反対するとの声明を発表。その上で、香港政府が法に則って問題に対処することを支持するとした。
