ジハーディ・ジョン死亡、「イスラム国」が認める。後藤健二さんら殺害したと見られるイギリス人

過激派組織「イスラム国」(IS)の機関誌「ダビク」は1月19日、日本人ジャーナリスト後藤健二さんらの殺害に関与したとみられる同組織の黒い覆面の男、通称「ジハーディ・ジョン」が死亡したことを明らかにした。

過激派組織「イスラム国」(IS)の機関誌「ダビク」は1月19日、日本人ジャーナリスト後藤健二さんらを殺害したと見られている同組織の黒い覆面の男、通称「ジハーディ・ジョン」が死亡したことを明らかにした。ロイターなどが報じた。

ジハーディ・ジョンの本名は、モハメド・エムワジ。クウェート生まれのイギリス人で、ロンドンの中流家庭の多い地域で育ち、市内の大学でコンピュータープログラムを学んだ。大学卒業後、2012年にシリアへ渡航し、ISに参加したと見られている。2014年夏以降、イスラム国が人質を殺害したとする映像に何度も登場し、イギリス特有のアクセントで話していた。

機関誌「ダビク」では、2015年11月12日にシリア北部ラッカで行われた空爆で、エムワジ容疑者が乗っていた車両が無人機の攻撃で破壊され、同容疑者が即死したと説明している。アメリカ軍は同時期に、エムワジ容疑者が空爆で死亡したことに「ある程度、確信を持っている」と発表していた
