スポーツキャスターの松岡修造氏が1月26日、自身のブログを更新し、錦織圭が全豪オープンベスト8に進出したことを受けて、「圭の貫録、そしてテニスがフェレールをメンタル的に追い込んでいた」と称賛した。
これまで3時間半におよぶフルセットの激戦を繰り返してきた錦織（世界ランク5位）とフェレール（同10位）。今回の試合は、錦織が3セットで圧勝した。
松岡氏は、2人のラリーを新幹線に例えて「こだまフェレールは、のぞみ圭に歯が立たなかった」などコメント。試合をビュッフェバイキングに例え「圭が好き勝手に食い尽くしてしまった」などとユーモア溢れる表現で祝福した。
そして途中何度も見せた・・・

黄色いボールが光線のように飛び交ったが、こだまフェレールは、のぞみ圭に歯が立たなかった。
そして圭はこの試合、バイキングを完全にバイキングにした。そう・・・
レストランビュフェのバイキングにしてしまったのだ！
前菜（サーブ）、メイン（ストローク）、デザート（ボレー）と全ての食事、ショットにおいて圭が主導権を握り、
自分が好き勝手に選びながら食い尽くしてしまったのだ。
