韓国、1億人超の個人情報流出 大手カード3社が謝罪

韓国では、人口の2倍に当たる延べ1億人分の個人情報が大手クレジットカード会社から流出していたことが分かり、カードの再発行を求める市民からの問い合わせがカード会社に殺到するなど混乱が広がっています。



個人情報の流出が明らかになったのは、韓国の大手クレジットカード会社3社で、20日、ソウル市内で記者会見を開き、それぞれの会社の代表がそろって謝罪しました。

検察の発表によれば、情報セキュリティー会社の社員が、国民銀行系のKB国民カードなど大手3社の顧客情報をUSBメモリにコピーして持ち出し、一部を売りさばいていたという。

韓国最大手銀行の国民銀行系のKB国民カードから約5300万件、NH農協カードとロッテカードからも計約5100万件が流出した。3社が偽造カード識別機などの製造を依頼した情報セキュリティー会社の社員=逮捕、起訴=が、カード会社内での作業中に電算システムに接続。顧客の名前や住所、カード使用歴などをUSBメモリーにコピーして持ち出し、一部は売りさばいていた。

カード会社によれば、暗唱番号やセキュリティコードは流出していないため、被害が発生する可能性はないとしているが、市民からの問い合わせが殺到するなど混乱が広がっている。

韓国において過去最大規模の不祥事に、カード会社のずさんな情報管理や、監督当局への姿勢に不満が高まっているという。

情報流出事件が頻繁に起きる韓国でも過去最大規模の不祥事で、延べ被害者数は韓国の人口の約2倍。過去10年間に一度もカード会社に営業停止処分を出していない監督当局の姿勢も甘過ぎると批判を浴びている。
