チアリーダー型ロボット、村田製作所が開発した理由とは【動画・画像】

村田製作所がチアリーダーのロボットを開発した。正式名称は「村田製作所チアリーディング部」。全長36センチと小ぶりだが、ボールの上で上手にバランスを保ちながら、10体そろってダンスを踊ることができる。

同社では1991年と2005年に自転車に乗るロボット「ムラタセイサク君」、2008年には一輪車に乗る「ムラタセイコちゃん」を開発しており、今回のロボットは4代目。姿勢を制御する「倒立振子制御技術」と、位置を測定する「超音波位置計測技術」、複数のロボットを同期・協調させる「群制御技術」という3つの技術を組み合わせることで、ボール上でも倒れず、10体で踊ってもぶつからない動きを実現した。

公開された動画では、歌手・やくしまるえつこが手がけたテーマソング「チア・チア」に合わせて、チアリーディング部が華麗なダンスを披露している。千葉県の幕張メッセで10月7日から11日まで開催される「CEATEC JAPAN 2014」で実演されるという。

商品化が気になるところだが、村田製作所はロボット事業への参入を否定。「世界中の子どもから大人まで幅広い世代のInnovatorを応援したいというコンセプトのもと、複数ロボットによるチアリーディング部を構想しました」と発表している
