「はやりを追うな」ノーベル賞の大隅教授、生徒らと交流
昨年のノーベル医学生理学賞を受賞した、大隅良典・東京工業大栄誉教授（７２）が１１日、愛知県岡崎市で講演し、子どもたちと交流した。「はやりを追うことはやめ、人と違うことをやってほしい」と話した。
大隅さんは１９９６年から１３年間、岡崎市にある自然科学研究機構基礎生物学研究所の教授を務めた。講演では、受賞理由となったオートファジーという細胞内の新陳代謝の研究が、基礎生物学研究所時代に発展したことを紹介した。
講演後、原発の再稼働について質問した中学生女子に、大隅さんはたんぱく質の合成と分解の仕組みを念頭に「私たちは建設や合成にポジティブなイメージを持つが、合成したものを壊すシステムを持っていないと社会は成り立たない」と説明。「原子力の問題もどうしたら（廃棄物を）処理できるかという答えなしに、次世代に送ることには反対だ」と述べた。
講演前には大隅さんに愛知県学術顕彰状と岡崎市民栄誉賞が贈られた。（南宏美）
