国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)の汚職問題を巡り、次期会長選挙に立候補しているヨーロッパ連盟(UEFA)のプラティニ会長(FIFA副会長)は、FIFAのブラッター会長から200万スイスフラン(約2億5000万円)を、契約書なしで受け取っていたことを認めた。10月19日のフランスル・モンド紙が、プラティニ氏へのインタビュー記事を掲載した。

ル・モンドによると、プラティニ氏はブラッター氏から顧問料として200万スイスフランを受け取った。業務に対する正当な報酬と主張し、2016年2月のFIFA会長選挙を取り下げる考えはないと明らかにしたという。

FIFAは20日にスイス・チューリヒで緊急理事会を開くことを決めた。ブラッター氏とプラティニ氏は、FIFAから90日間の暫定的な活動停止処分を受けている。緊急理事会では、会長選挙の延期などの可能性も協議されるとみられる。
