アメリカのトランプ大統領がイスラム過激組織IS（イスラム国）に関する機密情報をロシアのラブロフ外相らに漏らしたとされる疑惑について、ロシアのプーチン大統領は5月17日、「アメリカでは政治的な『統合失調症』がはやっている」と皮肉った。
妄想や幻覚などの症状を伴う統合失調症になぞらえることで、自国も絡む疑惑を完全否定した形だ。
プーチン氏はこの日、ロシア南部ソチにある公邸でイタリアの首相と会談。その後開かれた記者会見で、トランプ氏をめぐる情報漏洩疑惑について記者から問われた。
ロシア大統領府が公開した会見動画によると、疑惑をめぐるアメリカ政治の混乱ぶりについてプーチン氏は「アメリカでは政治的な『統合失調症』がはやっている。ラブロフに何か秘密を提供したという疑惑について、私がアメリカ大統領を非難するなんてどうやってもできるわけがない」と話した。
その上でプーチン氏は「ラブロフを叱責しなければならないな。なぜなら彼はトランプ氏との会談の後、機密情報とやらを私とも諜報機関とも共有しなかったのだから。我が国にとって、とてもよくないことだ」と冗談を飛ばし、会場から笑いを誘った。
プーチン氏はまた、アメリカ国内で反ロシアを主張する勢力について「自国に害をもたらしていることを知らないのなら単に鈍感なだけだし、知っているのだとしたら危険で卑劣だ」と批判した。
一方で、「もしアメリカ政府さえよければ、我々はトランプ氏とラブロフの会談の速記録をアメリカ議会に開示してもよい」と述べた。
アメリカメディアは、トランプ氏がロシア側に漏洩したとされる情報はイスラエルが提供したとも報道。トランプ氏をめぐっては、ロシアがらみの疑惑が相次いでおり、与野党から批判の声が上がっている。
