ロシアのショイグ国防相は11月15日、激しい内戦が続くシリアで反政府勢力を掃討することを目指し攻撃を再開したと発表した。ロシア軍は地中海に展開している空母「アドミラル・クズネツォフ」を初めて投入した。BBCなどが報じた。
ロシア軍は10月18日からシリア空爆を停止すると発表していたが、ショイグ国防相は15日、ロシア南部の都市ソチでプーチン大統領と協議し、IS（イスラム国）やシリア征服戦線（旧ヌスラ戦線）など、シリアの反政府勢力への攻撃を当面続けるという。

ロイターによると、北部の都市アレッポ西部にある反政府勢力支配下のアワイジェルで15日、病院が空爆され、少なくとも1人が死亡した。
イギリスに拠点を置くシリア人権監視団によると、アレッポ周辺でこれまで3つの病院が空爆されているという。アワイジェルの病院では、空爆で医療スタッフや患者が負傷している。負傷者の中には、14日にアレッポ西部のカフルナハから移送されたばかりの患者もいる。
