ソニー・ピクチャーズエンタテインメントは14日、米政府の情報収集活動を暴露した中央情報局(CIA)の元職員エドワード・スノーデン容疑者とのやり取りや未発表の機密情報を収めたジャーナリストの著書を映画化する権利を取得したと発表した。

[ロサンゼルス 14日 ロイター] - ソニー・ピクチャーズエンタテインメントは14日、米政府の情報収集活動を暴露した中央情報局(CIA)の元職員エドワード・スノーデン容疑者とのやり取りや未発表の機密情報を収めたジャーナリストの著書を映画化する権利を取得したと発表した。

プロデューサーはスパイ映画「007」シリーズのマイケル・G・ウィルソン氏とバーバラ・ブロッコリ氏が務めるという。監督や出演者、公開日はまだ明らかにされていない。

映画の原作となる著書「暴露 スノーデンが私に託したファイル」は英紙ガーディアンの元コラムニストであるグレン・グリーンウォルド氏によるもの。スノーデン容疑者の情報に基づいた同紙による米情報収集活動の暴露報道は今年、ピュリツァー賞を受賞した。
