スウェーデンの首都ストックホルム中心部で4月7日、繁華街の人混みにトラックが突っ込み、少なくとも4人が死亡、15人が負傷した。スウェーデンのステファン・ロベーン首相は「テロ攻撃だ」と断定した。

現地時間7日午後2時55分ごろ、トラックがストックホルム最大のショッピング街にある歩行者天国「ドロットニングガータン通り」で人混みに突っ込み、周囲はパニック状態となった。

救急隊によると、負傷者のうち9人は重傷という。

警察はテロに関与した疑いで監視カメラに映った男の顔写真を公開し、捜索の結果、ストックホルム郊外でウズベキスタン人1人を拘束したと明らかにした。また、別の男をストックホルム北部のユールスタで逮捕した。この2人がテロの実行犯かどうかは明らかになっていない。警察発表によると、事件との関連ですでに2人を取り調べ中という。

「スウェーデンは攻撃を受けた」と、ステファン・ロベーン首相は事件発生直後に語った「あらゆることが、これがテロ攻撃であることを示している」

ショッピングセンター従業員のリーフ・アルマーさんは、スウェーデン国営放送局「SVT」に、「大混乱が起きています。けが人が何人出たのかは知りませんが、たくさんの人がショックを受けています」と語った。

スウェーデン紙「アフトンブラデット」によると、デパートにいた女性は「何百人もの人たちが死に物狂いで現場から走って離れていく様子を目にしました」と証言した。

別の目撃者ジャン・グランロスさんは「アフトンブラデット」に、「靴屋の中にいたら、何か物音がしました。それから叫び声が上がりました。店の外を覗いてみたら、大型トラックが目に入ってきたんです」と語った。

ストックホルム市内では外出を控えるよう指示が出され、ストックホルム中央駅には避難指示が出た。

「アフトンブラデット」によると、大型トラックがストックホルム中心部の歩道にいた人たちの列に突っ込んだとみられる。

犯行に使用されたトラックは、「スペンドラップス」というビール会社の所有しているもので、同社は事件当日、トラックは事件発生以前に盗まれたものだったと述べた。

「トラックは当社が使用している配送車両です」と、同社の広報責任者モルテン・リス氏はスウェーデン通信(TT)に語った。

「レストラン『カリエンテ』へ配達中、ドライバーが積荷を下ろしている間に誰かが運転席に飛び乗り、車ごと走り去ってしまいました」

地下鉄も運行を一時停止した。

トラックが突っ込んだ現場で、発火を防ぐために泡を噴射する消防隊員の姿が撮影された。

AP通信によると、7日の事件は、2010年12月にイギリス在住のスウェーデン人タイムール・アブデルワハブが自爆テロを仕掛けて死亡し、2人の負傷者を出した現場の近くだった。
