人質を取っていたのはマン・ハロン・モニス容疑者と15日夜判明した。武装した警官隊は、事件が発生してから15時間が経過した16日午前2時(日本時間同0時)ごろ、店内に突入し、銃撃戦となった。警察は、この事件で容疑者を含む男女3人が死亡、4人が負傷したと発表した。モニス容疑者と「イスラム国」との関係は明らかになっていない。
