同じくグループGのポルトガル―ガーナ戦では、ポルトガルが2-1でガーナを下して勝ち点をアメリカと同じ4に伸ばすも、得失点差で決勝リーグへは進めなかった。
グループHは、既に1次リーグ突破を決めているベルギーと韓国が対戦。ベルギーが韓国に1―0で勝利して3勝目。
アルジェリアとロシアは1―1で引き分けたが、出場4回目のアルジェリアが勝ち点4でベスト16に名乗りを上げた。
この日で1次リーグが終了し、決勝トーナメント進出の16チームが出そろった。
