とうとう2015年を迎えたわけだが、誰しも 「ホバーボードはどこ？」 と思うはずだ。『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー PART2』 は2015年に実現すると思われた華やかな未来像を見せてくれた。

とうとう2015年を迎えたわけだが、誰しも 「ホバーボードはどこ？」 と思うはずだ。

『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー PART2』 は2015年に実現すると思われた華やかな未来像を見せてくれた。ホバーボードに空飛ぶクルマ、未来的なデザインの服、そしてハイテクファックス機もあったが、結局は多くの“間違い”があったことは言うまでもない (ファックス機には申し訳ないが)。しかし中には、主人公のマーティ・マクフライの未来が現実になっているケースもある。

スロバキアのエアロモバイル社は実際に空飛ぶクルマを発明し、スケートボードのプロのトニー・ホーク氏もホバーボードの初試乗をすでに試みている。

では 『バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー』 が描いた2015年を見てみよう。

『ニューズウィーク』 は、同映画はあくまでも娯楽目的で製作されたもので、科学的に正確な未来を提示するものではないと指摘している。いずれにしても、正しく描かれたものから考えてみると、道路が必要なくなりつつあることは明らかだ。
