溺死写真の男の子の名前が判明 シリアの家族に何が起こっていたのか

シリア難民の3歳の男の子がトルコの海岸に悲しい姿で打ち上げられていた写真によって、ヨーロッパで起こっている難民危機が世界中に知られることになった。

シリア難民の3歳の男の子がトルコの海岸に悲しい姿で打ち上げられていた写真によって、ヨーロッパで起こっている難民危機が世界中に知られることになった。この死亡した小さな男の子の名前は、アイラン・クルディ君だとわかった。

アイラン君は5歳になる兄のガリプ君と、母のリハンさんとともに海岸で遺体で見つかった。父親のアブダラ・クルディさんはかろうじて一命を取りとめた。

シリア系クルド人のクルディ一家は、トルコのボドルムからギリシャのコス島へ、2台のボートに分かれて避難している最中だった。しかしボートは2台とも、9月2日の未明に沈んでしまった。ボートに乗った23人のうち、生存が確認されたのはわずか9人だけだったという。

アイラン君の体を運ぶトルコ国家憲兵

このアイラン君の胸の張り裂けるような写真は、難民危機への警鐘を鳴らした。SNSユーザーの中には、この悲劇が起こる前の、アイラン君と家族が一緒の写真をシェアしている人もいる。

シェアされた写真の中にはアイラン君とガリプ君がテディベアの隣で楽しそうに笑っているものや、ガリプ君が黄色いジャケットを着た笑顔のアイラン君を抱き寄せているもの、父親のアブダラさんが、誇らしげに2人の息子たちの手を握っている写真もあった。

家族の友人から送られた、2人の息子、アイラン君とガリプ君と一緒にいるアブダラ・クルディさんの写真。胸が張り裂けそうです。

トルコの通信社ドーガンによると、一家がトルコへ逃げたのは、2014年にIS(イスラム国)がコバ二の街に侵攻した後だ。しかし、国連は彼らを難民と認定せず、トルコ政府も出国ビザは与えなかったと見られる。

クルディ一家をなんとか助けようとしていたのは、アブダラさんの姉でカナダのバンクーバーに住むティーマさんだった。ティーマさんは、カナダ紙「ナショナル・ポスト」に、次のように語った

「彼らの保証人になろうとしました。友人や近所の人の中には、彼らのためにお金を出してもいいという人もいましたが、彼らを国外に連れ出すことはできなかったのです。そのため、彼らはボートに乗って国から出るしかなかった。トルコでの家賃も私が払っていましたが、シリア人がこのように扱われてるのかと思うと、恐ろしくなります」

ISにコバ二が包囲された後、家族で故郷から避難したアイラン君とガリプ君

家族を失ったアブダラさんの今の唯一の願いは、最愛の妻と子供たちに故郷コバ二の地に眠ってもらうことだという。BBCによると、この家族は今回の国外脱出の前にカナダの避難所も探したそうだが、難民の申請が断られてしまったという。
