「ＴＫＭエボラ」はこれまで、緊急時のみ患者に投与され、反復投与でも良好な忍容性が示されている。
今後は、米食品医薬品局（ＦＤＡ）とカナダ保険省の認可に基づき、臨床試験に参加できないエボラ熱感染者への投与が可能となる。
ただ、テクミラのマーク・マレー最高経営責任者（ＣＥＯ）は、同薬の在庫は限られているとしている。
米株式市場で、テクミラの株価は２０％超急上昇した。
