タイの洞窟に閉じ込められたサッカー少年ら13人の救出劇について、早くも映画化を目論む動きが出てきた。アメリカの映画会社「ピュア・フリックス」(アリゾナ州)が、2人のプロデューサーを救出現場に派遣し、「下調べ」をさせていた。

オーストラリアの大手ニュースサイト「news.com.au」によると、同社のプロデューサー、ミハイル・スコットとアダム・スミスの両氏が現地入りし、救助の様子を見たり、関係者への聞き取りなどをしたという。

今後、少年らを救出したタイ海軍特殊部隊員や、外国からやってきたダイバーらにも取材するという。スコット氏は「他社もやってくるだろうから、急いでいる」と話した。

一方、アメリカのニュース専門チャンネル「CNBC」によると、スコット氏の妻はタイ人で、救出作業中に死亡した元特殊部隊員と同級生。「映画化されれば作品は多くの人にとって励みになるだろう。亡くなった元特殊部隊員にも捧げたい」と話した。

ただ、一連の出来事の「主役」である少年らには接触できておらず、映画化が実現するかは未知数だ。
