まるで山車、黄金色の車を披露 タイ前国王の葬儀で使用
１０月下旬に営まれるタイのプミポン前国王の葬儀の際に使われる山車のような黄金色の車が、２１日にバンコクで披露された。
１７９５年に造られて以来、国王の葬儀に使われ続けてきたもので、昨年１０月に８８歳で死去したプミポン前国王の葬儀に向け、今年初めから修復作業が続いていた。壮麗な彫刻を施した木造で、表面は黄金色に光り輝いている。
この日は、プラユット暫定首相らも出席して式典が行われ、伝統の踊りも披露された。
葬儀は１０月２５日から２９日にかけて営まれ、２６日に遺体が火葬される。バンコクの王宮前広場では、火葬施設の建設も仕上げの段階に入っている。（バンコク＝貝瀬秋彦）
